CAMAS RESIDENCE
The Camas House is a modern residence overlooking the Columbia River. The house perches on the river bank hills with vast glass providing beautiful views south on Mt Hood, the river, and the beginnings of the Columbia Scenic Area. The low horizontal nature of the house allows it to maintain a quiet profile in its dramatic setting and the house can just barely be seen from the river surface.
From the first design meeting, the house designed itself within its context. The architecture is truly its setting, and the fabric of its structure and materials. There is almost no paint, no trim, and no disguise. Concrete floors anchor the building and provide a calm palette for fir and cedar to naturally provide color throughout.
General Contractor, Rocking Horse Rita Custom Homes, Inc. did an incredible job executing the design intent established by the clients and architect Ryan Walsh.
